The development and training of others is a key leadership responsibility as well as a role and career in its own choice. In order to develop, being an expert in a subject is not enough; we need to have the right approaches, tools, techniques, methods and structures in order to engage our participants and ensure the utility of our training and development.

Introduction:

The development and training of others is a key leadership responsibility as well as a role and career in its own choice. In order to develop, being an expert in a subject is not enough; we need to have the right approaches, tools, techniques, methods and structures in order to engage our participants and ensure the utility of our training and development.

Objectives:

The course has the following objectives:
(1) To know and be able to manage all stages of the development cycle and know the pros and cons of a range of developmental interventions.
(2) To be able to analyse the needs of course participants and to set goals, outcomes and objectives
(3) To be able to deliver engaging training, utilise published materials and produce your own.
(4) To know how to use a range of training tasks, methodologies, structures and approaches including roleplays, simulations, gamification and more.
(5) To be able to assess and evaluate the outcomes of development through feedback, testing, application, achievement and, where possible, return on investment.

Outcomes:

By the end of this course, you will:
(1) Be able to design and deliver impactful and engaging training sessions.
(2) Be able to analyse developmental needs and set meaningful training goals, outcomes and objectives.
(3) Know how to make best use of training materials.
(4) Be able to manage the training room fully.
(5) Know how to evaluate training and development.

Total Learning Hours:

This course will take approximately 120 hours to complete.

Target Audience:

The course will be of interest to anyone who:
- is involved in training and development in any capacity
- wishes to move into training and development in their work
- is in a leadership role demanding development of others
- needs to design or coordinate training and development
- wants to make the transition from subject matter expert to trainer

- The training cycle and the ADDIE model
- Needs analysis
- Setting goals, outcomes and objectives
- Coaching approaches
- Using PDPs and projects
- Testing and measuring success using the evaluation models
- Using technology
- Using visuals, video and audio in training

Assessment:

The course will be assessed by one of the following:
1. Submission of a recorded training session.
2. Creation of a training proposal for a designated group.
3. A reflective assignment detailing how the training has been used at work.

Fee:

£499 (GBP) / €585 (EUR) including preliminary interview, course materials, assessment and certification.
